2.2 Unpacking and Checking Package Contents
Follow the procedure below for unpacking the received carton in which the device is
shipped.
¾ To unpack the device:
1. Open the carton and remove packing materials.
2. Remove the Mediant 600 device from the carton.
3. Check that there is no equipment damage.
4. Ensure that in addition to the Mediant 600, the package contains the following items:
One AC power cable.
Four anti-slide bumpers for desktop installation option.
Two mounting brackets and four screws for 19-inch rack mounting.
Two meter-length RS-232 DB-9 adaptor cable (for direct serial connection to PC).
5. Check, retain and process any documents.
6. Notify AudioCodes or your local supplier of any damage or discrepancies.
2.3 Mounting the Device
The device can be mounted in one of the following ways:
Desktop (refer to 'Desktop Mounting' on page 14)
Installed in a
standard 19-inch rack (refer to '19-Inch Rack Mounting' on page 15)
2.3.1 Desktop Mounting
The device can be mounted on a desktop, by attaching four adhesive, anti-slide rubber
bumpers (supplied) to the underside of the device. Once you have attached these bumpers,
simply place it on a desktop with the bumpers in contact with the surface.
