Overview

This document serves as the user's manual for the Avvolta Portable Air-conditioner, models A015A-12C, A015A-14C, and A015A-16C, which utilize R290 refrigerant gas. It provides essential information for proper use, maintenance, and installation of the appliance.

Function Description

The Avvolta Portable Air-conditioner is a versatile household appliance designed to regulate indoor temperature and humidity. It offers multiple functions including refrigeration (cooling), heating, dehumidification, and air supply (fan). Its compact structure, economical performance, and low noise make it suitable for various settings such as bedrooms, offices, and other places.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Models: A015A-12C, A015A-14C, A015A-16C
  • Refrigerant: R290 (flammable refrigerant gas)
  • Power Supply: 220-240V/50Hz
  • Cooling Operating Temperature Range: 17°C - 35°C
  • Heating Operating Temperature Range: 15°C - 25°C
  • Minimum Room Area for Installation/Operation/Storage:
    • 5000Btu/h, 7000Btu/h, 8000Btu/h models: 4 m²
    • 9000Btu/h, 10000Btu/h, 10500Btu/h models: 12 m²
    • 12000Btu/h, 14000Btu/h, 16000Btu/h, 18000Btu/h models: 15 m²
  • Exhaust Hose Length (for effective heating/cooling): Not more than 400mm, kept parallel and not bent.
  • Minimum Clearance from Filter Side to Wall/Obstacles: 500mm
  • Power Outlet Specifications: Not less than 10A, firm and secure.

Usage Features

  • Control Panel & Remote Control: The unit can be operated via a control panel on the device or a remote control. The remote control features temperature selectors (up/down), fan speed selector, mode selector, hourly programming (timer), and an On/Off switch.
  • Modes of Operation:
    • Cooling: Adjust temperature between 17°C and 30°C. Fan speed can be set to LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, or AUTO. In AUTO mode, the machine adjusts cooling capacity based on room temperature relative to the set temperature.
    • Heating: Adjust temperature between 15°C and 25°C. Fan speed can be selected.
    • Dehumidification: In this mode, wind speed is not adjustable (locked in low wind operation), and the exhaust hose is not required.
    • Fan Speed: Selectable between LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, or AUTO.
  • Programmable Timer (TIMER-ON/TIMER-OFF): Allows users to set a time (1-24 hours) for the unit to automatically turn on or off.
  • Automatic Evaporation and Drainage: In refrigeration mode, the machine automatically evaporates condensed water and drains it out of the exhaust hose, eliminating the need for manual drainage, provided the drain plug is installed.
  • Drainage (Dehumidification/Heating Mode): For continuous drainage in dehumidification or heating mode, the plug "A" in the drain hole should be removed, and an appropriate drainage pipe installed.
  • Water Full Alarm (E4 Code): When the internal water tank is full, a water indicator illuminates, followed by an "E4" code on the display, and the compressor stops. Draining the water through the drainage pipe will clear the error and resume operation.
  • LED Display: Shows the currently set temperature, timing time, or fault codes.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Ensure constant ventilation and that inlet/outlet are not blocked.
    • Operate on a horizontal surface to prevent water leakage.
    • Do not operate in explosive or corrosive atmospheres.
    • Wait at least 3 minutes before restarting after shutdown to protect the compressor.
    • Use a separate, dedicated power supply.
    • Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources to improve refrigeration capacity.
    • Close doors and windows during dehumidification.

Maintenance Features

  • Air Filter Cleaning: The strainer (air filter) should be cleaned every two weeks. To clean, remove the strainer overlay, soak it in warm water (about 40°C) with a neutral detergent, rinse off the lotion, and dry it in a cool place before re-installing.
  • Storage (Quarterly Preservation):
    1. Unplug the unit and run it for half a day until the water is blown dry.
    2. Shut down and unplug the power.
    3. Wipe the surface of the machine with a damp cloth and dry it with a dry cloth.
    4. Roll up the power cord.
    5. Cover the machine in a dry place with a plastic bag.
  • Exhaust Hose Removal: The exhaust hose can be removed by rotating it in the arrow direction for both cooling and heating configurations.
  • Self-Diagnosis Function: The unit provides light prompts for self-diagnosis, displaying error codes (E1, E2, E4) to indicate specific issues such as temperature sensor shorts or a full water tank, guiding users or technicians on troubleshooting steps.
  • General Safety Instructions for Maintenance (R290 Refrigerant):
