•Whilemonitoringanareawheremovingobjectsarenotexpected,selectahighhistorylevel.Thiswillcausemotion

detectiontotriggeraslongastheobjectispresentinthewindow.

•Toonlydetectashinglight,selectalowsensitivity.Inothercaseshighsensitivityisrecommended.

AudioDetection

TheAxisproductcanbeconguredtogenerateanalarmwhenaudiorisesaboveorfallsbelowthethresholdvalue.Thethreshold

valuecanbesetintherange0–100where0isthemostsensitiveand100theleastsensitive.

1.GotoDetectors>AudioDetection.

2.SettheaudioalarmlevelandclickSave.

3.GotoEvents>ActionRulesandsetupanactionrule,seeSetUpActionRulesonpage34.

DetectedaudioisindicatedbycoloredpeaksintheActivityindicator.Aneventistriggeredwhendetectedaudiorisesaboveorfalls

belowthethresholdvalue,whichisrepresentedbythebar.

PIRSensor

ThePIR(PassiveInfrared)sensordetectsmotionbymeasuringchangesininfraredlight.Thesensorcanforexamplebeused

inlow-lightenvironmentswherevideomotiondetectionisnotreliable.Whencongured,thecameracanautomaticallyswitch

onthelightwhentriggeredbythePIRsensor.

ToadjustthesensitivityofthePIRsensor,anactionrulethatactivatesthebuilt-inlightwhenthePIRsensordetectsmotionisuseful:

1.GotoEvents>ActionRulesandclickAdd.

2.SelectDetectorsfromtheTriggerlistandthenselectPIR.

3.SelectActivateLightastheaction.

4.ClickOKtosavetherule.

5.GotoDetectors>PIRSensor.

6.MakesurethereismovementinfrontofthecameraandadjusttheSensitivityuntilthelightisactivated.

7.Whensatised,clickSave.

Bysettingupactionrules,theAxisproductcanbeconguredto,forexample,recordvideowhenthePIRsensordetectsmotion.

Ifthecameraisusedinalow-lightenvironment,anactionrulethatturnsonthebuilt-inlightcanimproveimagequalityof

therecordedvideo.
