Anoverlayimageisastaticimagesuperimposedoverthevideostream.Theimage,forexampleacompanylogo,isrstuploadedto
theAxisproductandthenusedtoprovideextrainformationortomaskapartoftheimage.
Imagespecications:
•TheuploadedimageshouldbeaWindows24-bitBMPimagewithmaximum250colors.
•Theimagewidthandheight,inpixels,mustbeexactlydivisiblebyfour.
•Theimagecannotbelargerthanthemaximumimageresolution.
•Ifcombiningtextandimageoverlays,takeintoconsiderationthatthetextoverlayoccupies16or32pixelsinheight
(dependingontheresolution)andhasthesamewidthasthevideoimage.
Sinceitisstatic,thepositionandsizeofanoverlayimagewillremainthesameregardlessofresolutionandpan,tiltorzoom
movements.
Toalwayscoveraselectedpartofthemonitoredarea,useaprivacymask.SeePrivacyMaskonpage21.
Howtoincludeoverlaytextinanactionrule
1.GotoVideo>VideoStreamandselecttheImagetab.
2.UnderOverlaySettings,selectIncludetext.
3.Enterthemodier#D.Whentheruleistriggered,#Disreplacedbythetextspeciedintheactionrule.
Additionaltextinthiseldwillbedisplayedalsowhentheactionruleisnotactive.
4.GotoEvents>ActionRulesandcreateyouractionrule.
5.FromtheActionslist,selectOverlayText.
6.EnterthetexttodisplayintheTexteld.
7.SpecifytheDuration.Thetextcanbedisplayedwhiletheruleisactiveorforaxednumberofseconds.
PrivacyMask
Aprivacymaskisauser-denedareathatpreventusersfromviewingpartsofthemonitoredarea.Privacymasksappearasblocks
ofsolidcolorandareappliedonthevideostream.PrivacymaskscannotbebypassedusingtheVAPIX®applicationprogramming
interface(API).
ThePrivacyMaskList(Video>PrivacyMask)showsallthemasksthatarecurrentlyconguredintheAxisproductandindicates
iftheyareenabled.
Youcanaddanewmask,re-sizethemaskwiththemouse,chooseacolorforthemask,andgivethemaskaname.

Addingmanyprivacymasksmayaffecttheproduct’sperformance.

Privacymaskisnotavailableforthequadstream.However,privacymasksconguredoneachchannelwillbedisplayed
