Firmwareissoftwarethatdeterminesthefunctionalityofnetworkdevices.Oneofyourrstactionswhentroubleshootingaproblem
shouldbetocheckthecurrentrmwareversion.Thelatestversionmaycontainacorrectionthatxesyourparticularproblem.The
currentrmwareversionintheAxisproductisdisplayedinthepageSetup>BasicSetupandinSetup>About.
UpgradetheFirmware
Important
•Yourdealerreservestherighttochargeforanyrepairattributabletofaultyupgradebytheuser.
•Preconguredandcustomizedsettingsaresavedwhenthermwareisupgraded(providingthefeaturesareavailableinthe
newrmware)althoughthisisnotguaranteedbyAxisCommunicationsAB.
Note
•Aftertheupgradeprocesshascompleted,theproductwillrestartautomatically.Ifrestartingtheproductmanuallyafterthe
upgrade,wait10minutesevenifyoususpecttheupgradehasfailed.
•WhenyouupgradetheAxisproductwiththelatestrmwarefromAxiswebsite,theproductreceivesthelatestfunctionality
available.Alwaysreadtheupgradeinstructionsandreleasenotesavailablewitheachnewreleasebeforeupgrading
thermware.
Toupgradetheproduct’srmware:
1.Downloadthelatestrmwareletoyourcomputer,availablefreeofchargeatwww.axis.com/techsup
2.GotoSetup>SystemOptions>Maintenanceintheproduct’swebpages.
3.UnderUpgradeServer,clickBrowseandlocatetheleonyourcomputer.
4.ClickUpgrade.
5.Waitapproximately10minuteswhiletheproductisbeingupgradedandrestarted.Thenaccesstheproduct.
AXISCameraManagementcanbeusedformultipleupgrades.Seewww.axis.comformoreinformation.
EmergencyRecoveryProcedure
Ifpowerornetworkconnectionislostduringtheupgrade,theprocessfailsandtheproductmaybecomeunresponsive.Flashing
redStatusindicatorindicatesafailedupgrade.Torecovertheproduct,followthestepsbelow.Theserialnumberisfoundon
theproduct’slabel.

2.Iftheproductdoesnotreplyin30seconds,restartitandwaitforareply.PressCTRL+CtostopPing.
3.Openabrowserandtypeintheproduct’sIPaddress.Inthepagethatopens,usetheBrowsebuttontoselecttheupgrade
letouse.ThenclickLoadtorestarttheupgradeprocess.
