Instructions
Temperature
Purpose:Preventenvironmentalfactorsfromaffectingthecamera.Forexample,extremetemperaturescausedbydirectsunlight,
cancauseunexpectedbehaviorinthecamera.
Actions:
•GotoSettings>System>Maintenance>ReportsandclickViewtheserverreport.Checkforfanfailuresandif
thetempcounterishigherthan5.
•Iftherearemanywarningsorthetempcounterishigh,considertakingprecautionsthatreducetheriskofexposingthe
cameratoextremelyhotorcoldtemperatures.

Vibrations
Purpose:KeeptheaccuracyofthePTZmechanism,whichissensitivetovibrations,andachieveidealoperationwhenzooming.
Actions:
•GotoSettings>System>Maintenance>ReportsandclickViewtheserverreport.Searchforpan/tilterrors,
whichcanbeanindicationofvibrationsthatcauseproblemsforthecamera.Exampleofpanerrorfromserverreport:
domed[759]:Panpositionerror!
Contactthecameraowner/operatortoidentifyissuescausedbyvibrations.
•Vibrationscanbereducedbyusinganothermountingoptionorimprovetheexistingone.Apotentialcausecouldbethat
thescrewsareloosebetweenthebracketandthepole/wall.SeeScrewsonpage7formoreinformation.
Presetpositions
Purpose:Maintainthepresetpositions.Presetsaresupposedtostayintheirconguredlocations.However,duetocertainconditions
suchastemperaturevariationsandnormalweartheycouldbecomeoffsetovertime.
Note
Itcouldbedifculttodetectorremembertheoriginallocationofapreviouslyconguredpresetposition.Ifthisisthe
case,talktothecameraoperator.
Actions:
•Ifanyofthepresetsareoffset,gotoSettings>PTZ>Presetpositionsandrecongurethepresettothedesiredlocation
byaddingapresetwiththesamename.
•Ifthepresetaccuracyoffsetishigh,gotoSettings>PTZ>LimitsandturnoffE-ip.
•Iftheoffsetisstillhigherthan0.5°Caftercompletingtheactionsabove,contactaxis.com/support.
PTZtest
Purpose:TestthePTZmechanism.Thebuilt-inPTZtestisdesignedtocalibratethecamerablockandcheckforproblems.
Actions:
•GotoSettings>System>Maintenance>PTZstatusandclickTest.
Ifanyerrorsarereported,gotoSettings>System>Maintenance>ReportsandclickDownloadtheserverreport.
