Installthehardware
Mountthevideoencoder
Thevideoencoderissuppliedwithamountingkitcontainingscrewsandplugsformounting
thevideoencodertoaconcretewall:
1.Placethevideoencoderagainstthewall,andmarkthelocationofthefourmounting
holes(seepage8)throughwhichthevideoencoderwillbeattached.
2.Removethevideoencoderanddrillthefourmountingholes.
3.Insertthewallplugsintothewall,positionthevideoencoder,andattachittothewall
usingthescrewsprovided.
Note
Thesuppliedprotectivepadscanbeusedtoavoidscratchingthesurfaceonwhichthevideo
encoderisplaced.Punchoutthepadsandapplythemtotheundersideofthevideoencoder.
Connectthecables
1.Connecttheencodertothenetworkusingashieldednetworkcable.IfusingPoEsee
notebelow.
2.Optionallyconnectexternalinput/outputdevices,e.g.alarmdevices.Seepage14for
informationontheterminalconnectorpins.
3.Optionallyconnectanactivespeakerand/orexternalmicrophone.
4.Connectthecameratothevideoinput.
5.IfpoweringtheunitwiththeDCinput,connectthesuppliedindoorpoweradapteroran
externalpowersupply.Seenotebelow.
6.CheckthattheindicatorLEDsindicatethecorrectconditions.Seepage13for
informationontheLEDindicators.

•TheunitcanbepoweredusingeithertheDCpowerinputorPoE(PoweroverEthernet).
•IfpoweringtheunitusingDCpower,connectthepowersupplytothepowerconnectorat
therearoftheunit.
•IfpoweringtheunitusingPoE,connectaPoEnetworkcable.
