If an Axis Cables and connectors port indicator isn't lit and the device isn't working, first check if the Midspan detects a device. Then, ensure the device is designed for PoE operation. Verify you're using a standard Category 5/5e/6 straight-wired cable with four pairs. If you're using an external power splitter, try replacing it. Make sure the input Ethernet cable is connected to the DATA IN port, and the device is connected to the DATA PWR OUT port. Try connecting the device to a different Midspan to identify a faulty port or RJ-45 connection. Finally, check for shorts in the twisted pair cables or RJ-45 connectors.
