Air Cleaner
The air cleaner is the engine’s only defense against
damaging foreign particles. It is very important that the air
cleaner element is inspected prior to each use. Remove
the element and tap its sides in order to remove debris.
Do not blow the filter out using compressed air. Doing so
will greatly reduce the air cleaner’s effectiveness.
Replace yearly; more often in dusty environments.
Adhering to these practices will help prevent loss of
power and premature engine failure.
CHANGING THE AIR CLEANER
1. Locate the air filter and unbuckle all of the air
filter cover latches.
2. Remove the cover and take out the outer
white element and the inner blue element.
3. Clean or replace elements.
4. Reattach the cover.
Radiator Debris Screen
The radiator is equipped with a removable screen that
must remain free of debris at all times to ensure proper
engine cooling. Check screen hourly during dry conditions.
Cleaning the Radiator Debris Screen
1. Allow radiator to cool.
2. Remove thumb screws and screen hold down
bracket.
3. Slide screen back and up.
4. Clean screen thoroughly of all debris using high
pressure air or water as necessary.
5. Reinstall in reverse order.
Coolant Expansion Tank
This mower is equipped with a coolant expansion
tank. The proper coolant level is at the “L” mark
when the coolant is cold and at the “H” mark when
the coolant is hot. Check coolant level before mower
operation.
