WARNING: Not To Be Used for Personnel Protection
Never use this device as a sensing device for personnel protection. Doing so could lead to serious
injury or death. This device does not include the self-checking redundant circuitry necessary to allow its
use in personnel safety applications. A sensor failure or malfunction can cause either an energized or de-
energized sensor output condition.

Overview

The D10 Expert Series is a sophisticated fiber optic sensor designed for high-performance sensing, particularly in low-contrast applications. It features a compact, DIN-rail-mountable housing with a large, easy-to-read 8-segment red bar graph display and bright green/yellow LEDs for intuitive programming and status monitoring.

Function Description:

The D10 Expert Series operates by emitting a visible red (680 nm) or visible green (525 nm) sensing beam, depending on the model. It detects changes in light intensity and translates these into discrete output signals. The sensor is capable of establishing a single switching threshold or a sensing window, which can be configured through various TEACH and SET modes. Its smart gain-control algorithm maximizes performance in challenging low-contrast scenarios. The device also incorporates an adaptive threshold system that continuously tracks minimum and maximum signal levels, automatically maintaining the optimal switchpoint.
