CRAWLER MAINTENANCE
FILLING/CHECKING TRANSMISSION OIL
When checking the transmission oil the transmission should be in the orientation shown below with the drain plug (2) in
the 6 o'clock position. This results in the filler plug (1) being in the 10 o'clock or 2 o'clock position. Fill the oil up to the
height of the filler hole. After filling oil insert filler plug with new washer and tighten.
TRACK TENSION
The track is tensioned by the tensioning cylinder (1) shown below. Track tension is adjusted by injecting more grease
into the cylinder to add tension or by unscrewing the grease nipple (2) halfway to remove tension. The grease
tensioner is accessable throught he hand holes (4) in the side of the steel frame (3). The hand holes are covered by a
covering plate (5).
WARNING
The transmission oil and housing will be hot after running for extended periods. Always
wear protective gloves and wait for transmission to cool before checking or changing
the transmission oil.

IMPORTANT
There must be a sag of 7/8"-1 1/8" over a length of 40"-60". Measure the amount of sag using a ruler. span the
yardstick across two supported points and measure the distance from the ruler to the grouser shoe in th emiddle of hte
span.
