ENGINE MAINTENANCE
Follow the instructions in your engine operator’s manual for all engine maintenance.
Barreto Manufacturing has added an engine oil drain hose to your engine to facilitate easier oil changes.
Due to heavy duty use inherent to trenching, Barreto Manufacturing recommends that you change your
engine oil every 25 hours. Check your engine oil level daily prior to use, and after every 8 hours of use.
Engine oil recommendation is temperature based, see your engine owner’s manual for more information.
Both engines recommend using their respective branded engine oil.
Vanguard: synthetic 5W-30 Honda: 10W-30 below 85°F (30°C), 10W-40 above 85°F (30°C)
LUBRICATION REQUIREMENTS
Grease:
Grease at the intervals indicated in the following illustration of grease points. Wipe away excess grease.
