Troubleshooting
If the device does not work properly, check whether you are able to rectify the problem your-
self. If the problem cannot be solved with the steps that are listed, contact the customer service
department.
Do not attempt to repair a electrical device yourself!
Problem Possible cause Fix
The device cannot
be switched on. / The
operating lamp (15)
does not light up.
The mains plug is not inserted
correctly in the socket.
Correct the t of the mains plug.
The plug socket is defective.
Try another plug
socket.
There is no mains voltage.
Check the fuse of the mains
connection.
The On / Off switch (14) has not
been pressed.
Press the On / Off switch to
switch on the device.
The fuse in the fuse
box is triggered.
Too many devices connected to
the same circuit.
Reduce the number of devices in
the circuit.
Water runs out of
the device.
There is too much water in the
water tank (3).
Do not over ll the water tank!
The brewing position or steam
position has been set.
Always move the selector switch
to the
position when there is
no vessel under the porta lter
outlet or the steam nozzle (4).
The drip tray (8) is full.
Empty the drip tray.
The espresso /
coffee runs along
the outside of the
porta lter (10).
The porta lter is not inserted
correctly.
Check that it ts correctly (see
the “Handling and Operation”
chapter – “Inserting the
Por ta lter into the Device”).
The rim of the porta lter
is contaminated with
espresso / coffee powder.
Clean the porta lter and the
sieve insert(11).
The coffee pad sits on the rim. Insert the coffee pad correctly.
