OPERATION
OPERATING COMPONENTS
The bin can be raised by using the Bin-up switch
(top) and can be lowered by using the Bin-down
switch (bottom).
Hold in the Bin-up switch for more than 1.5 seconds
and the bin will raise while you continue to keep the
switch pressed in and will stop raising when you
release the switch.
If the Drive-Line Assist feature (see "i-Tip" switch) is
active then the Bin-up Latch feature will be active.
This means that when you press and release the
Bin-up switch in less than 1.5 seconds, the bin will
raise to the 100% bin lift point automatically unless
it is interrupted by an additional press and release
oftheBin-upswitch.
If the Bin-down switch is pressed when the bin is in
this raising (Latch-Up) state then the bin will latch
down.
The Bin-down Latch feature is always active. When
you press and release the Bin-down switch in less
than 1.5 seconds (irrespective of Drive-Line Assist
status) then the bin will lower to the 0% bin lift point
automatically unless it is interrupted by an
additional press and release of the Bin-down
switch.

this lowering (Latch-Down) state then the bin will
either; Latch up and automatically raise the bin (if
Drive-Line Assist is active) or stop lowering the bin
(if Drive-Line Assist is NOT active).
“i-Tip Switch
The "i-Tip" switch provides a Drive-Line Assist,
Hard Stops & Auto Load Spreading function.
These functions can be enabled or disabled using
this switch.
Soft Stops is the default setting. This softens the
end stroke of the bin lift cylinders, reducing wear &
tear.
Hard Stops: When you are transporting sticky
material, select Hard Stops. This ensures that the
end stroke of the bin lift cylinders are at maximum
power, the sticky material will slide from the bin
easier and quicker.
If the Hard Stops feature is enabled (left LED
above the switch illuminated) then the bin can be
moved against the top stops with speed and the
default automatic Soft Stops will be disabled.
If the Drive-line Assist feature is enabled (middle
LED above the switch) the following will happen:
The Bin-up Latch will be enabled; this is de-
scribed in Bin up/down switches section.
The engine speed (rpm) will be raised while the
Bin-Up Latch is active.
If you are in 1st gear (Forward or Reverse) and
you press and release the Bin-Up switch, the ac-
celerator pedal will be disabled, when the output
shaft speed is less than 300 rpm the park brake
will be applied, then the bin will be latched up and
the engine speed will be raised while the bin is
raising.
To enable the Load Spreading option a BELL
Equipment service technician must enable it on
the CDU.
Load Spreading Selection
To activate the Load Spreading option the operator
must hold in the SSM "i-Tip" switch. The Load
Spreading option must be enabled on the CDU for
this to work, if it is not enabled then holding in the "i-
Tip" switch will result in a “Request Denied” pop-up
on the CDU.
The 3rd LED on the "i-Tip" switch will illuminate
when the Load Spreading option is active.
The operator must select the load spreading rate as
a value between 0 and 100 (with 100% being the
thickest spread) on the CDU 'Machine Config' -
'Prod Options' - 'Spread Rate'.
WhentheLoadSpreadingoptionisactivethenthe
Spread Limit, speed limit will automatically be
active. The standard gear limitation with bin angle
will not be functional if the Auto Load Spreading
Function is active.
To de-activate the Load Spreading option the
operator should either hold in the SSM "i-Tip"
button or give it a short press. The 3rd LED will de-
activate.
