Drawing Up Bobbin Thread
Raise the presser foot and hold the needle thread
slightly with your left hand.
Use your right hand to slowly turn the handwheel
counterclockwise until the needle has been low-
ered. Continue turning the handwheel until the
thread take-up lever is at its highest point.
Slightly draw up the needle thread forming a loop of
the bobbin thread.
Pull 10 cm (4˝) of both threads back and under the
presser foot.
Thread tension dial
Correct tension
The thread tension is adjusted depending on the sewing
materials, layers of fabric and sewing method.
In an ideal zigzag stitch, the bobbin thread does not
show on the right side (top) of the fabric, and the needle
thread shows slightly on the wrong side (bottom) of the
fabric.
