This document is the user manual for the BIOBASE Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet models BBS-V1300 and BBS-V1800.
The BIOBASE Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinet (LAF) is a workbench or similar enclosure designed to create a particle-free working environment. Its primary function is sample protection by taking air through a filtration system and exhausting it across a work surface in a laminar or unidirectional air stream. The cabinet is enclosed on the sides and maintained under constant positive pressure to prevent the infiltration of contaminated room air. It is used to protect experimental materials and create a local high-cleanliness air environment, ensuring the accuracy of experiments within the operating area. However, it does not provide protection for the environment or operators.
The cabinet features a driving system for the front window, consisting of a tubular motor, the front window itself, a hauling mechanism, and a limit switch. The air filtration system is a core component, comprising a blower and a HEPA filter system. This system transfers filtered air to the work area, ensuring airflow velocity and maintaining Class 100 cleanliness. For disinfection, a UV lamp is located at the top of the work zone, emitting a wavelength of 253.7nm to effectively disinfect the entire area. Illumination is provided by an LED light, ensuring the standard requirement for average illumination is met.
The manual provides technical parameters for two models: BBS-V1300 and BBS-V1800.
External Size (WDH):
Working Zone Size (WDH):
Power Supply AC:
Frequency:
Consumption:
Airflow Velocity: 0.3~0.5m/s for both models.
UV Lamp Consumption:
Fluorescent Lamp Consumption:
HEPA Filter: 99.999% efficiency at 0.3µm for both models.
Noise: <65dB for both models.
Additional Notes on Electrical Properties:
Working Environment:
Installation: The cabinet should be placed in a protected area, away from doors, windows, and air conditioning outlets to prevent airflow impact. A minimum 300mm gap must be maintained on the side and back for clean operation and inspection. The base stand is assembled with the main body using hexagon socket head cap screws. The foot height can be adjusted; clockwise rotation lowers the feet, allowing movement, while anticlockwise rotation raises them, fixing the cabinet in place. A gas (water) tap can be installed, with its mouth inside the operating zone. After installation, verify voltage and frequency match the nameplate, and check fan motor, fluorescent lamp, UV lamp, screen buttons, and socket functionality.
Control Panel: The control panel features soft-touch buttons and an LCD display.
Waterproof Socket: Located in the operating area, it provides power to equipment. The total load of sockets should not exceed 500W. The socket is waterproof only when its front cover is down.

Replacement Parts: The manual includes a list of replacement parts for both BBS-V1300 and BBS-V1800 models, including fuses, lamp holders, UV lamps, LED holders, UV lamp ballasts, HEPA filters, fans, control panels, front window glass, side window glass, and single wall gas taps.
Troubleshooting: A troubleshooting guide is provided for common issues like fluorescent lamp not working, UV lamp not working, buttons not working, and no electricity in the equipment. It lists check parts and corresponding measures.
Fuse Replacement: The fuse of the waterproof socket is on the right side of the cabinet. To replace, turn off power, disconnect the plug, use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew the fuse holder, replace the fuse, and reassemble.
Fluorescent Light Replacement: Turn off power, remove the LED stand, unplug the right side, replace with a new LED stand, and insert into the inclined slot.
UV Lamp Replacement: UV lamp tubes should be changed every 600 hours. Turn off power, disconnect the plug. Rotate the tube 90° to remove it, then install a new one by rotating in reverse. After replacement, reset the accumulated using time to zero by pressing and holding the UV button for 5 seconds until a buzz alarm sounds.
Storage Conditions: Laminar flow cabinets should be stored in a warehouse with relative humidity no more than 75% and temperature below 40°C. The warehouse must have good ventilation and be free of acid, alkali, or other corrosive gases. Storage period should not exceed one year. If stored for more than one year, the cabinet needs to be unpacked and checked before selling and using. Only tested and qualified safety cabinets should be sold.
Warranty: The warranty is 12 months from the EX-factory date, excluding consumable accessories (UV lamp, fluorescent lamp, and fuse). Biobase is not liable for damage caused by improper operation. Expired warranty repairs will incur charges. The lifetime of the laminar flow cabinet is 8 years from the production date. Biobase will provide equipment drawings and technical data for maintenance companies or personnel trained by Biobase engineers. The warranty declaration is: One-year Warranty, Life-long Maintenance.
