  If the Link LED on your Black Box Switch is off, first ensure that both the switch and the connected device are powered on. Next, confirm that the cable is securely plugged into both the switch and the device. If the switch is rack-mounted, inspect the connections to the punch-down block and patch panel. Also, verify that you are using the correct type of cable and that it does not exceed the specified length limits. Finally, check the adapter on the connected device and the cable for any defects, replacing them if necessary.
