Troubleshooting Guide

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTION
• Mower will notstart. • Cord is not pluggedin.
• Circuit fuse isblown.
• Circuit breaker istripped.
• Cord or switch isdamaged.
• Grass too long.
• Thermal cut out activated.
• Plug mower into a workingoutlet.
• Replace circuit fuse. (If the product
repeatedly causes the circuit fuse to blow,
discontinue use immediately and have it
serviced by an authorized BLACK+DECKER
servicecenter.
• Reset circuit breaker. (If the product
repeatedly causes the circuit breaker trip,
discontinue use immediately and have it
serviced by an authorized BLACK+DECKER
servicecenter.
• Have cord or switch replaced at an
authorized BLACK+DECKER servicecenter.
• Increase the height of cut and move
mower to shorter grass to start.
• Allow motor to cool and increase height
of cut.
• Mower functions
intermittenly.
• Thermal cut out activated. • Allow motor to cool and increase height
of cut.
• Mower leaves ragged
finish or motor labors.
• Height of cut too low.
• Cutting blade is dull.
• Underside of mower is clogged.
• Blade is installed upside-down.
• Increase height of cut.
• Replace or sharpen the blade.
• Unplug mower. Check underneath the
mower and clear out debris as necesary.
(Always wear heavy duty gloves)
• Install blade correctly.
