Why are my bluelab Soil pH Meter pH readings inaccurate?
- JJennifer WhiteJul 27, 2025
If you're getting inaccurate pH readings with your Bluelab Measuring Instruments, several factors could be the cause: * The soil pH probe is contaminated or the glassware isn't clean. Clean the soil pH probe and then calibrate it. * The wick is contaminated, blocked, or dry. Hydrate the probe in KCl storage solution for 24 hours. Don't measure proteins or oils with this unit; consider replacing the unit if this is the case. * The pH calibration is incorrect. Ensure your calibration solutions are accurate, replacing them if you're unsure. Allow readings to stabilize before calibrating to a constant value. * The pH calibration is unreliable. Calibrate the soil pH probe. * The soil pH probe is damaged or old. Replace it.
