The device described in the manual is the bobsweep LEAF, an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner designed for home cleaning.
Function Description
Leaf is an intelligent floor cleaner that operates autonomously to sweep and mop your home. It connects to Wi-Fi and can be controlled and scheduled through the bobsweep app, allowing for customized cleaning plans. Leaf is designed to navigate and clean various areas of your home, including corners and edges, and can detect and avoid obstacles. When it encounters a problem, it stops and blinks red, and details can be checked on the bobsweep app.
Usage Features
First Clean Setup:
- Unboxing: Before starting, protective pieces must be removed from Leaf's bumper and charging station.
- Side Brush Installation: Side brushes (left and right) need to be installed by placing them over the empty sockets and pressing down to lock them. These brushes help Leaf reach corners and edges.
- Power On: Leaf is powered on by pressing and holding the Power Button until the power indicator lights up.
- Charging: Leaf charges on its charging station, which should be placed on a hard, flat surface away from edges and stairs. The charging plates on Leaf must align with the charging nodes on the station. The charge indicator pulses while charging and shines green when fully charged. It is recommended to charge Leaf completely overnight before its first clean.
- bobsweep App Integration: To access Leaf's full features and software updates, the bobsweep app must be downloaded on a mobile phone. Users create an account, add Leaf to the app, and connect it to Wi-Fi. Once connected, Leaf can be charged via the app.
- Initiating Cleaning: After setup and charging, Leaf is ready to sweep. Users should clear clutter and wires from the floor, then press "Start" on the bobsweep app or the power button on Leaf.
Cleaning Behavior:
- Leaf's cleaning pattern may appear unconventional, involving gradually widening circles, following walls, or zigzagging. It is designed to efficiently clean the entire home within a full cycle.
- Users are advised to let Leaf work autonomously without manipulation, as moving or picking it up can confuse and disrupt its cleaning cycle.
Challenges:
- Unique Furniture: Leaf is designed to maneuver around most furniture shapes and sizes, but some configurations (e.g., chairs with narrow legs, low furniture) may temporarily confuse it or be difficult to clean under.
- Inclines: Leaf may attempt to drive up angled surfaces and get stuck briefly before moving to another area. This behavior is part of its effort to cover every spot. Users should note challenging areas and adjust furniture if possible.
- Standby Mode: If left idle off its charging station for more than 10 minutes, Leaf enters Standby Mode to preserve battery, turning off its power indicator. Pressing the Power Button wakes it up.
Wet Mop Functionality:
- Reservoir Management: The water reservoir must be drained after use to prevent water damage. Leaf should not sit on the charging station with a wet mopping cloth or with liquid in the reservoir.
- Water Type: Distilled water is recommended for use in hard water areas.
- Mop Setup: To use the wet mop, remove the water reservoir, open its tab, and fill it with water. Press firmly to close the tab and replace the reservoir. Place the mopping cloth on the mop attachment, then align the prongs of the mop attachment between Leaf's wheels and press down to attach it.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for Leaf's optimal performance.
Dustbin and Filters:
- Dustbin: Should be cleaned daily. To do this, lift the top cover, eject the dustbin, and dump its contents.
- Filters: Should be cleaned weekly and replaced every 6 months. Open the filter container, remove debris, then remove and dust the filters. Wash or wipe the dustbin and air dry all parts completely before reassembling.
Brushes:
- Side Brushes: Should be cleaned weekly and replaced every 12 months. To clean, pull up to remove the side brushes, remove debris from the brushes and brush sockets, then replace the side brushes.
- General Brush Maintenance: Clear debris from nooks and crannies around the brushes and wheels. Use tweezers to remove congestion from the side brushes and their compartments. Use scissors or a cleaning tool to cut hair wrapped around the brushes.
Sensors:
- Cleaning: Use a soft cotton cloth to wipe the sensors around Leaf's bumpers, edge, and wall sensors weekly.
Front Wheel:
- Cleaning: Clean the wheel and all its components, including the assembly and wheel socket, weekly.
Charging Nodes:
- Cleaning: Wipe the charging plates on Leaf and the charging nodes on its station.
Battery:
- Replacement: The battery should be replaced every 24 months. To access the battery compartment, power Leaf OFF and use a Phillips head screwdriver to open it.
Storage:
- For extended periods of non-use (over 2 weeks), power Leaf OFF, remove its battery, and unplug its charging station. Store all components in a dry room, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
