ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
CHILDRENS EQUATION
There are two regression equations or formulas used in the program of the
BODYSTAT
1500 MDD unit for the determination of body composition. One is
suited for the age groups 18 to 70 years and is found in our popular
BODYSTAT
1500 unit. There is an additional equation used in
BODYSTAT
1500 MDD unit which is especially suited for the age groups of 6
to 17 years. These equations are automatically selected when the age of the
subject is entered.
Age groups outside of this range may of course still be measured (for example,
for regular monitoring of changes in body composition) but the results, the
recommended or optimal results, may have to be treated with caution.
If the age of the subject being measured is under 6 years, the following
message will be displayed:
The body composition results of the subject will still be displayed along with an
accurately measured Impedance value.
When performing a measurement on a subject of 17 years and under, then the
appropriate regression equation must be selected if downloading the data into
the Body Manager Software.
Grateful acknowledgement is made to the following people in determining the body
composition measurements for children ages 6 to 17 years of age:
