Before you use this appliance
•Removeallpackaging.

cannotbeheldliableforanydamagecaused
byincorrectinstallationorconnection.
•Theappliancemayonlybeusedafterithas
been installed in a unit with an approved and
appropriate work surface.
•Thisdomesticapplianceisintendedforordi-
narydomesticuse(preparationoffood)only,
totheexclusionofanyotherdomestic,com-
mercial or industrial use.
•Removealllabelsandstickersfromthece-
ramic glass.
•Donotconvertormodifytheappliance.
•Donotusethehobasabaseorworksurface.
•Safety is ensured only if the appliance has
been earthed as prescribed.
•Donotuseanextensionleadtoconnectitto
the electrical grid.
•Theappliancemustnotbeusedaboveadis-
hwasheroratumble-dryer;thesteamfrom
such appliances can damage the electronics.
Using the appliance
•Always switch off the heating zones after
use.
•Keepaneyeonpreparationscontaininggre-
aseoroils;theycancatchreeasily.
•Becarefulnottoburnyourselfwhileorafter
using the appliance.
•Do not allow children to operate the appli-
ance.
•Makesurenocableofanyxedorportable
appliance touches the hot cooking zone or
anyhotpot.
•Do not putany metallic object except pots
or pans on the glass surface. If the appliance
isinadvertentlyswitchedonorisstillhot,it
could heat or melt the material or even set
it on fire.
•Never cover the appliance with a cloth or
a protective cover. It could become hot or
catch fire.
•This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced or
impairedphysical,sensoryormentalcapabi-
lities or persons lacking knowledge and expe-
rienceunlesstheyaresupervisedortaught
how to use the appliance by a responsible
caregiver.
•Childrenmustbesupervisedsoastoensure
thattheywillnottoplaywiththeappliance.
•Metallicobjectssuchasknives,forks,spoons
and lids should not be placed on the hob
surface,becausetheycangethot.
Precautions against damage
•Damagedpots orpots withrough bottoms
(unenamelled cast iron pots) may damage
the glass.
•Sandoranyabrasivematerialsmaydamage
the glass.
•Avoiddroppingobjects,evensmallones,on
the glass.
•Avoidknockingpotsagainsttheglassedges.
•Donotputorleaveemptypotsonthehob.
•Avoid contact of sugar, synthetics or alu-
minium foil with the hot zones. When they
cool down, these substances can cause the
vitroceramic surface to crack or damage it:
switch off the appliance and remove them
from the hotsurface immediately (caution:
risk of burns).
•Neverputahotcontaineronthecontrolpa-
nel.
•Ifthereisadrawerunderthehob,makesure
the space between the content of the dra-
wer and the bottom of the appliance is large
enough (2 cm) to ensure proper ventilation.
•Neverputanyammable object(e.g.spray
cans)intothedrawerbelowthehob.Cutlery
drawers must be heat resistant.
