6.1 Faults
Problem Action to be taken
No BAT 490 function
after switch-on
(red LED does not light)
Pull the mains connector and
check the power supply and po-
wer cord.
Red LED flashes after connec-
ting the battery
Check the polarity at the batte-
ry. The red charging clip must
be connected to the positive
post (+) and the black charging
clip to the negative post (–) of
the battery.
Overload: Maximum current va-
lues reached for Buffer and
Backup mode.
The red LED stops flashing on-
ce the overload situation has
been rectified.

6.3 Cleaning
Only use a soft cloth and neutral detergents to clean
the housing and display of the BAT 490. Do not use ab-
rasive cleaning agents and coarse workshop cloths.
6.4 Disposal
This BAT 490 is subject to European guideli-
nes 2002/96/EG (WEEE).
Old electrical and electronic devices, including-
cables and accessories or batteries must be
disposed of separate to household waste.

Please use the return and collection sys-
tems in place for disposal in your area.

Damage to the environment and hazards to
personal health are prevented by properly
disposing of BAT 490.
