3. Product description
3.1 Intended use
The high-performance battery charger BAT 490 can be
used to charge all types of 12 V or 24 V lead-acid bat-
tery. Optimal charging is provided in particular for bat-
teries with fixed electrolyte (gel or AGM technology).
Batteries can be charged both installed in and following
removal from the vehicle. The BAT 490 can also be used
as Backup or power supply for the vehicle electrical
system.
The BAT 490 is intended for use by automotive work-
shops, technical supervisory authorities, petrol stations
and battery retailers.
i The BAT 490 is only suitable for charging lead-acid
batteries in perfect working order with a rated volta-
ge of 12 V or 24 V.
