4. Faults
4.1 No communication with BEA 050
and/or RTM 430

4.2 No communication with the measure-
ment unit
Possible causes:
R Power supply (for checking refer to Section 5.1).
R USB connecting cable (for checking refer to Section
5.11).
R Measurement unit (replace the measurement unit if
none of the other possible causes is applicable).
R Computer unit (check by connecting a customer
service PC).
4.3 No speed signal
Possible causes:
R B+ /B- (for checking refer to Section 5.3).
R Term. 1/15 (for checking refer to Section 5.4).
R Clip-on trigger (for checking refer to Section 5.5).
R Measurement unit (replace the measurement unit if
none of the other possible causes is applicable).
4.4 No temperature display
Possible causes:
R Temperature sensor (for checking refer to Sec-
tion 5.2).
R Measurement unit (replace the measurement unit if
none of the other possible causes is applicable).
4.5 No battery voltage
Possible causes:
R B+ /B- (for checking refer to Section 5.3).
R In the event of malfunction, replace either the mea-
surement cables or the measurement unit.
4.6 No pressure display
Possible causes:
R Pressure sensor (for checking refer to Section 5.10).
R In the event of malfunction, replace the measure-
ment unit.
4.7 No current display
Possible causes:
R Input/multi measurement cable CH1 (for checking
refer to Section 5.6).
R Input/multi measurement cable CH2 (for checking
refer to Section 5.7).
R Current probe 30 A.
R Current probe 1000 A.
4.8 Timing light not functioning
Possible causes:
R Timing light (for checking refer to Section 5.9).
R Measurement unit (replace the measurement unit if
none of the other possible causes is applicable).
4.9 Remote control not possible
Possible causes:
R Remote control unit (check using reference remote
control unit).
R Remote control unit batteries (check using multime-
ter).
R Remote control receiver (check the firm attachment
of all cables, connect up the keypad directly and
check, replace the remote control receiver with a
reference unit if applicable).
4.10 Operation with mouse not possible
Possible causes:
R Mouse (check firm attachment of connector, check
with reference mouse).
R Computer unit (check using customer service PC).
4.11 No keypad operation
Possible causes:
R Remote control receiver (check the firm attachment
of all cables, connect up the keypad directly and
check, replace the remote control receiver with a
reference unit if applicable).
R Keypad (check using customer service PC).
R Computer unit (check using customer service PC).
