3.4 Changing the standard settings
The appliance has been set at the factory so that coffee can be
brewed without any additional programming.
The following settings can be changed:
► Water hardness
► Water filter
3.4.1 Setting the water hardness
It is important for the descaling programme that the
water hardness is set correctly. If external wate
r
softeners are used in the domestic water system or i
f
filtered water is used, select water hardness 1
Water hardness 4 is preset
► Determine the water hardness with the enclosed test strip or ask
your local water supplier.
