Why is there no flow or low flow rate with varying temperatures in my Bristan Plumbing Product?
    • C
      Cameron RodriguezJul 30, 2025
Several factors can cause this issue. Start by checking the showerhead, hose, and filters for any blockages and clean them if necessary. Ensure that the stop or service valve in the water supply pipework to the shower valve is fully open. If you have an instantaneous water heater, the flow rate or pressure may be too low, causing it to cycle on and off. If the water pressure is affected by other outlets, avoid using other water outlets while showering. Also, verify that the water pressure is sufficient. Additionally, airlocks or blockages in the pipework can cause these symptoms, so flush the pipework. Finally, confirm that both hot and cold water are reaching the shower valve, as the valve will shut down if either supply fails.

Why is there only hot or cold water coming from my Bristan R2 SHXRR C shower valve outlet?
    • S
      Steven McdonaldAug 7, 2025
This can happen if the inlet water supplies are reversed, meaning the hot and cold water connections are swapped. Check that the connections are correct: hot on the left and cold on the right when viewed from the front, and rework the pipework if necessary. Also, a partially blocked inlet filter can cause this, so clean or replace it, and flush through the pipework before refitting.

Why is the water temperature too cold on my Bristan R2 SHXRR C, even with the maximum temperature set?
    • S
      Steven WebsterAug 13, 2025
The issue could be due to several reasons. If the hot water temperature is less than 10ºC above the required blend temperature, adjust the hot water temperature or wait for the water to reheat if a stored system is used. If you have an instantaneous water heater, it might not be igniting because the water flow rate or pressure is too low. In this case, increase the water flow or pressure through the system and check the cartridge inlet filters, cleaning or replacing them as needed.

Why is my Bristan R2 SHXRR C showerhead leaking?
    • A
      Amanda HuffmanAug 21, 2025
A short period of leaking after turning off the shower is normal; adjust the angle of the showerhead in the holder to vary draining time. If the shower control valve isn't closing fully, possibly due to debris, remove and check the shower control valve assembly. Damaged flow control valve seals can also cause leaking; check their condition and replace them if necessary.
