The all , ip-addr , peer-group-name , and as-num parameters specify the neighbor. The ip-addr parameter species a neighbor by its IP
interface with the device. The peer-group-name species all neighbors in a specic peer group. The as-num parameter species all
neighbors within the specied AS. The all parameter species all neighbors.
Clearing diagnostic buers
The device stores the following BGP4 diagnostic information in buers:
• The rst 400 bytes of the last packet received that contained an error
• The last NOTIFICATION message either sent or received by the device
To display these buers, use options with the show ip bgp neighbors command.
This information can be useful if you are working with Brocade Technical Support to resolve a problem. The buers do not identify the
system time when the data was written to the buer. If you want to ensure that diagnostic data in a buer is recent, you can clear the
buers. You can clear the buers for a specic neighbor or for all neighbors.
If you clear the buer containing the rst 400 bytes of the last packet that contained errors, all the bytes are changed to zeros. The Last
Connection Reset Reason eld of the BGP4 neighbor table also is cleared.
If you clear the buer containing the last NOTIFICATION message sent or received, the buer contains no data.
You can clear the
buers for all neighbors, for an individual neighbor, or for all the neighbors within a specic peer group.
To clear these buers for neighbor 10.0.0.1, enter the following commands.
device# clear ip bgp neighbor 10.0.0.1 last-packet-with-error
device# clear ip bgp neighbor 10.0.0.1 notification-errors
