    • A
      Aaron LeeSep 9, 2025
If your Brother Plotter isn't cutting completely through the material and some areas remain uncut, consider these potential causes and solutions: * The blade may be incompatible with the material, so replace it with a suitable one. * The blade could be chipped; replace it with a new one. * The blade could be worn, so replace it. * The material might be incompatible with the machine; replace it with a compatible one. * The cutting pressure may be incorrect; adjust the setting for “Cut Pressure (Half Cut)” in the settings screen. * Lint or dust may have accumulated in the holder; clean the holder.

Why is my Brother ScanNCut DX Plotter not cutting all the way through the material?
    • J
      Jessica Harper MDAug 23, 2025
If a blade incompatible with the material is being used, the blade may be chipped or worn, the material is incompatible with this machine, the cutting pressure is incorrect, or lint or dust has accumulated in the holder, not all of the material to be cut may be cut. Replace the blade with one compatible with the material or a new one, replace the material with one compatible with this machine, adjust the setting for “Cut Pressure (Half Cut)” in the settings screen, or clean the holder.

How to fix the issue when the material is not fed in straight in my Brother ScanNCut DX Plotter?
    • C
      Christine HammondAug 25, 2025
The material might not feed straight into your Brother Plotter if the end of the material isn't evenly trimmed, the leader sheet was inserted at an angle, the material isn't secured by the guide plates, the rear tray isn't pulled out, the feed roller is not correctly positioned, the material is not properly attached on the leader sheet, or the leader sheet is worn. To fix this, evenly trim the material, align the leader sheet when inserting, secure the material with guide plates, pull out the rear tray, adjust the feed roller position, reattach the material to the leader sheet correctly, or replace the leader sheet.

The material cannot be inserted into the Brother Plotter if the leader sheet was not placed under the feed rollers, the button was not used to insert the leader sheet, the feed roller is not correctly positioned, the shaft is unlocked, or “Roll Feeder” was not selected in the home screen. Insert the leader sheet so that it is placed under the left and right feed rollers, lightly insert the leader sheet into the feed slot, and then press the button, adjust the position of the feed roller, lock the shaft, or select “Roll Feeder” in the home screen.

Why my Brother ScanNCut DX Plotter material cannot be fed?
    • E
      elizabeth97Aug 29, 2025
The material cannot be fed into the Brother Plotter if there is an obstruction around the slot of the machine or the machine is installed on a surface that is not level. Maintain space around the slot of the machine so that the material can be fed out, and place the machine on a level, even surface.
