All air from outdoors:
The confined space shall be provided with two per¬
manent openings, one in or near the tqp of the en-
. closure and one in or near the bottom.. The openings
/ . shall communicate, directly, or by means of ducts,--with
/.outdoors or to such Spaces (crawl, or attic), that freely
communicate with, outdoors. n ■
When directly communicating with outdoors, or by
means of vertical ducts, each opening shall have a free
area of not less than 1 sq ill. per 4,000 Btuh of total
—inputT rating-of-alh-appliances^in-the- enclosurer-If^
Horizontal ducts are used, each opening shall have a
free area of not less than,!, sq in. per .2,000 Btuh of
total input of alb appliances in the enclosure.
Ducts shall be of the' same cross-sectional area as the
free area of the openings to which they connect. The
minimum dimension of rectangular air ducts shall be
not less than 3 inches.
Minimum clearance from combustibles is 6 inches on
all sides including the top and draft diverter. Check
local boiler codes to see if this distance conforms to
their requirements. ■
It is recommended that a minimum clearance of 24
inches be maintained in front and on the control end
of the boiler for servicing.
ASSEMBLING THE BASE,
The 4-, 5- and 6-section boilers each have individual
bases. The 4-section base has 6 burners, the 5-sectioh
base has' 8 .burners, and the 6-section b asqdias/10'bur¬
ners.* **.' r . ——
To assemble any boiler larger than 6 sections some
combination of the above three bases must be used.
Follow Table III in order for the gas manifold header

The bases are fastened together with 5/16-inch cap
