V5 INFINIUM Valve Life Monitoring
The INFINIUM Tube Life Monitoring circuitry continuously monitors the output tube biasing for optimum performance and
consistent tone, even as the tube ages. When the output tube does need to be replaced, the tube’s matching LED on
the back panel will light permanently.
When you do need to replace a tube, you may plug in the new tube and immediately begin using the amplifier; you will
not need a technician to set up the bias for the new tube.
To replace a faulty output tube:
1. Switch off the amplifier and wait for the output tube to cool down to a safe temperature before touching it.
2. Press down the tube retainer to the chassis using two fingers of one hand, and then gently pull on the tube while
lightly rocking back and forth until the tube loosens and slides out of the socket.
3. Carefully insert the new tube, making sure the new tube’s prongs are properly aligned with the matching holes and
the gap is aligned with the corresponding gap in the Noval-socket.
4. Gently push the new tube until it seats firmly in the socket.
5. Switch the amplifier back on in Standby mode.
6. When the tube has warmed up to operating temperature, you may switch the amplifier out of Standby mode.
7. The INFINIUM Tube Life Monitoring LED should now turn off and you can begin playing. When the front panel light
starts flashing regularly, this indicates the amp cannot work due to too many issues. In this case we recommend
replacing the faulty power amp tube immediately.
