Precautions

Safety First

Never remotely start your vehicle indoors, with the keys in the ignition or unless the transmission is in park.

Warning

General Motors Rear Wheel Drive Vehicles and Dodge Dakotas built prior to 1996 do not have an electrical neutral safety switch.

Making Wiring Connections

Making End to End Connections

Use this method ONLY when connecting two separate wires end to end.

Locating and Making Connections

Constant Power (+12 V)

Locate constant power wire in the vehicle's main ignition harness, usually in the steering column.

Ignition Wire(s) (+12 V)

Locate ignition wire(s) in the main harness, showing +12V in run and crank positions.

Accessory Wire(s) for Heater;Blower

Locate accessory wire(s) in the main ignition switch harness showing +12V in run or on positions.

Starter;Crank Wire (+12 V)

Locate the starter/crank wire showing +12V only in the crank position.

Chassis Ground

Locate an easy-to-get-to bolt or screw under the driver's side dash for the black ground wire.

Neutral Safety Switch
