5．Install a new oil filter according to the
instructions that come with it.
Make sure to clean off any dirt and dust on
the connecting surface of a new oil filter.
6．Put a new washer on the drain bolt, then
reinstall the drain boil and tighten it.
Tighten torque:
BYD483QB engine model
90 Nm
Mitsubishi 4G69S4M engine model
39 Nm (4.0kgf•m)
7．Refill the engine with recommended oil.
Change capacity of engine oil
(including filter):
BYD483QB engine model
3.5 L
Mitsubishi 4G69S4M engine model
4.3 L
8．Put the engine oil filler cap back on and
tighten it, start the engine. The indicator of
oil pressure should go out within 5 seconds.
If it does not, turn off the engine, and check
your work above.
9．Let the engine run for several minutes,
then check the drain oil bolt and oil filter for
leaks.
10．Turn off the engine, let it stop for about
3 minutes, then check the oil level on
dipstick. If necessary, add more oil to upper
limit mark of dipstick.
Friendly tips
Improper disposal of engine oil can be
harmful to the environment. If you
change the oil yourself, please deal with
the used oil properly. Put it in a sealed
container and take it to a recycling
center. Don’t discard it in a trash bin or
dump it on the ground.
