result in cruise set to the current
vehicle speed.
Using Cruise Control on Hills
How well the cruise control will work
on hills depends upon the vehicle
speed, load, and the steepness of the
hills. When going up steep hills, you
might have to apply the accelerator
pedal to maintain your speed. When
going downhill, the cruise control
system may automatically brake to
slow the vehicle down. Also, you may
have to brake or shift to a lower gear
to keep your speed down. If the brake
pedal is applied, cruise control
disengages.
Ending Cruise Control
There are four ways to end cruise
control:

Step lightly on the brake pedal.

Shift the transmission to
N (Neutral).

Press J.
Erasing Speed Memory
The cruise control set speed is erased
from memory if
J is pressed or if the
ignition is turned off.
Speed Limiter
Intelligent Speed Limiter
(Automatic)
The Intelligent Speed Limiter (ISL)
function allows the vehicle to
maintain a set speed. To exceed the
set speed, depress the accelerator
pedal. Speed Limiter will not control
vehicle speed on a hill. If the driver
allows the speed to exceed the speed
limitation setting, the driver will be
alerted. Speed Limiter may be used at
speeds greater than 25 kph.
ISL uses an on-board camera to
identify road signs and automatically
adjust the set speed depending on the
speed limit in that area. The driver
can adjust the set speed with an offset
above or below the identified area
speed limit.
The intelligent mode may not
function in inclement weather or
when road signs are blocked by leaves,
snow, or other items that obstruct the
camera's view.
ISL can also be used in Manual mode.
In Manual mode, all changes to the
set speed are per formed by the driver.
The speed limiter button is located on
the steering wheel.

on, off, or switch between Intelligent
and Manual modes.
