We subscribe to the recommendations for the number and placement of smoke and/or heat detectors found in the
National Fire Protection Association's Standard #72, Chapter 2 (N.F.P.A. Batterymarch Park, Quincy, MA 02269). For
the best early warning, fire detection devices should be installed in all rooms and areas of the premises. A smoke detector
should be installed in each separate sleeping area, in the vicinity of bedrooms. (In new construction, a smoke detector
shall be installed in each separate sleeping room.) Heat or smoke detectors should be installed in living rooms, closets,
utility and storage rooms, basements, and attached garages.
