The touch controls may be locked. Please refer to the section ‘Using your induction hob’ for instructions on how to unlock them.
Why are my Caple Hob touch controls hard to use?
A slight film of water on the controls or using the tip of your finger might be the reason. Ensure the touch control area is dry, and use the ball of your finger when touching the controls.
Why does my Caple Hob make a humming noise on high heat?
The humming noise is a normal result of the induction cooking technology. The noise should decrease or disappear completely when you lower the heat setting.
What to do if pans don't get hot on my Caple C897i Hob and a symbol appears?
The hob might not be detecting the pan. Ensure you are using cookware suitable for induction cooking. Also, center the pan on the cooking zone and ensure the pan's base matches the size of the cooking zone. See section ‘Choosing the right cookware’.
How to fix crackling noises from pans on my Caple C897i Hob?
These noises can occur due to the construction of your cookware, where different metal layers vibrate differently. This is normal and does not indicate a fault with your Caple hob.
What to do if my Caple C897i turns off with an error code?
Please note down the error letters and numbers, switch the power to the induction hob off at the wall, and contact Caple Service on 0117 938 1900.
