6. PREPARATION FOR USE
6.1. Battery installation
The HD+ is powered by two AAA alkaline batteries. When the battery is adequately charged
and the HD+ is connected to the receiver, the LED on the front panel of the HD+ lights up steadily. The
yellow quick flashing LED indicates low batteries.
Remove the cover of the compartment to install a new battery. The device automatically switches off when
batteries are removed.
Insert two AAA batteries in the compartment, aligning the battery poles with the positive (+) and negative (-)
indicators inside the compartment. Replace the cover of the battery compartment.
6.2. Patient cable connection
Connect the patient cable terminal plug to the connector on the upper part of the HD+. The connector is
designed to allow for the insertion of the patient cable in one direction only. Should the plug of the patient
cable not go into the connector, do not force it but try to rotate it.
NOTE: to prevent the patient cable from breaking, remove it from the connector by grasping the plug, avoid
straining the terminations.
6.3. Switching on the device
Press the Power on button. During start-up, the LED will flash and the device will emit an acoustic signal.
The flashing speed of the LED corresponds to as many operating statuses of the device, as described in
Paragraph 5.5.2.
If the LED flashes quickly, the batteries are low and need to be replaced.
6.4. Connection to the receiver
Through a Bluetooth connection, the HD+ transmits the acquired electrocardiographic signals in real-time to
a computer where one of the compatible CARDIOLINE software is installed.
Refer to the user manual of the individual software for a complete guide to the HD+ connection.
