  If the feed wheels on your Carlton Chipper slow down or stop when feeding material, it could be due to: * Dull knives * A worn or dirty relief valve * Excessive wear in the pump * Feed wheel motor(s) not functioning correctly * Feed wheel springs being too tight. To address this, replace the knives, clean or replace the relief valve and reset the pressure, replace the pump, check and replace the feed wheel motor(s), and adjust the feed wheel springs.

To fix this, grease the bearings daily using Texaco® Starplex II grease, retighten the bolts or setscrews as tight as possible, replace the bearings if they are worn, and tighten the setscrews on the sheave side bearing.
