Why won't my Carlton 2015 Chipper engine turn over?

First, the engine might be lugging on large material; in this case, maintain engine speed and use the feed control bar to reverse the material if the engine lugs down. Also, check the Auto-Feed Plus setting and adjust it. Second, an obstruction might be present in the discharge chute; any object protruding inside the chute may cause clogging, so replace the discharge chute if necessary. Open air vents on sides of chipper drum. Finally, chipping rotting material can also cause clogging; use care when running this type of material and 'flush' the discharge chute using other material with more substance.

Why is the hydraulic pump so loud on my Carlton Chipper?

To address this: * Do not operate the chipper with dull or mismatched knives. * Rotate, repair, or replace the knives. * Build up outer, non-cutting edges exposed to the chipper knives with weld to maintain the original surface integrity. * Ensure the knives are ground at the correct angle. * Be aware that certain types of material do not produce good chip quality.
