ML5 WiFi Capabilities (Separate section inside the manual just for WiFi.
The ML5 controller offers connectivity thru WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. When the device is connected to
the WiFi the user can connect to the ML5 controller via the Data-Connect program. Additionally
the user can connect to the ML5 controller through your devices browser by accessing a
webpage that resides on the ML5 controller.
There are two types of operating systems that can connect to the ML5 controller, IOS and
Android. IOS systems require you to enter the password in your systems setting and enter the
password a second time when logging into the Data-Connect program or resident webpage. The
Android system only requires you to log into the devices WiFi settings.
The ML5 WiFi can be accessed through the Alt menu on the keypad. Select Alt and arrow
through the display until ‘net’ is displayed, select ENTER key. Scroll through the menu until “
EnbL” is displayed in the left display. On the right display the user can scroll up or down and
select “On” to enable WiFi or “OFF” to disable.
Steps to log into the controller network.
Start the refrigeration system.
Turn on your wireless device, tablet, cellphone, etc.
1) From your home screen, tap the Apps located at the upper-right of your tablet screen.
2) Tap on the Settings icon. ...
3) Tap on the Wireless and networks section, tap on Wi-Fi settings.
4) Tap on Wi-Fi: Turn on Wi-Fi.
5) Locate your wireless network by locating the Container ID in the available networks (SSID).
6) You’ll be prompted by your device at this point to enter the password.
To see the password access the controller keypad.
1) Press “Alt Mode”
2) use the down arrow to get “nEt” to show on the display.
3) Press “ENTER”
4) use the down arrow to get “PASSW EntR” to show on the display.
5) Press “ENTER”

Notes about the password:
WiFi password resets every 4 hour (hours 2,5,8,11 based on system clock)
Password is good for the customers fleet (assuming all clock are set properly)

The ML5 controller is a device designed to provide wireless connectivity and control for refrigeration systems. It supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, allowing users to connect to the controller via the Data-Connect program or through a web browser by accessing a webpage hosted on the controller itself.

Connectivity and Compatibility:

The ML5 controller is compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems. For iOS systems, users are required to enter a password in their system settings and again when logging into the Data-Connect program or resident webpage. Android systems, however, only require logging into the device's WiFi settings.

WiFi Access and Configuration:

WiFi access on the ML5 controller is managed through the "Alt" menu on the keypad. Users can navigate to "net" in the display, press "ENTER," and then scroll to "EnbL" to enable or disable WiFi by selecting "On" or "OFF."

Steps to Log into the Controller Network:

  1. Start the refrigeration system.
  2. Turn on your wireless device (tablet, cellphone, etc.).
  3. From your home screen, tap "Apps" (usually in the upper-right corner of the tablet screen).
  4. Tap on the "Settings" icon.
  5. Tap on the "Wireless and networks" section, then "Wi-Fi settings."
  6. Tap on "Wi-Fi: Turn on Wi-Fi."
  7. Locate your wireless network by finding the "Container ID" in the list of available networks (SSID).
  8. Your device will prompt you to enter the password.

Accessing the WiFi Password:

To retrieve the WiFi password from the controller keypad:

  1. Press "Alt Mode."
  2. Use the down arrow to display "nEt."
  3. Press "ENTER."
  4. Use the down arrow to display "PASSW EntR."
  5. Press "ENTER." The WiFi password will then be displayed.

Password Management:

The WiFi password automatically resets every 4 hours, specifically at hours 2, 5, 8, and 11 based on the system clock. This password is valid for the customer's entire fleet, assuming all clocks are synchronized correctly. If communication occurs at the password change time boundary, the session can continue for an additional 4 hours without requiring a password change.

Data-Connect (Internal App):

Instructions are provided to connect the app to the controller.

Connecting with Device Browser:

Instructions are provided to open a browser and access the controller's webpage.

WiFi User Interface (ALT. Mode - "nEt" Menu):

The ML5 controller provides a limited set of parameters for wireless configuration and status checks via its 7-segment LCD display. More comprehensive configuration and status options are available through the embedded HTTP portal. All the following parameters are accessible in ALT. Mode under the "nEt" menu:

      • WiFi Client Status (when WiFi Role = Station)

The "Wireless Enable/Disable" function code is used to enable or disable the wireless capabilities of the device.
