Ifitisnecessarytouseauxiliarybatteries,rememberthatbothendsofthecablesmustbeconnectedasfollows:

Avoidshort-circuitingtheterminals.GASRELEASEDFROMBATTERIESISHIGHLYINFLAMMABLE.
•
Duringcharging,leavethebatterycompartmentuncoveredtoimproveventilation.
•
Nevercheckthebatterychargeusing”jumpers”(metalobjectsplacedontheterminals).
•
Avoidsparksoramesnearthebatteryzonetopreventexplosionhazards.
•
Beforeservicingoperations,checkforfuelorcurrentleaks.Eliminateanyeventualleaksbeforestartingwork.
•
Neverchargebatteriesinconnedspaces.Makesurethatthereisadequateventilationinordertopreventacci-
dentalexplosionhazardsasaresultoftheaccumulationofgasesreleasedduringchargingoperations.
•
Alwaysdisconnectthebatterybeforeperforminganykindofservicingontheelectricalsystem.
HYDRAULICSYSTEMS
•
Someuidslowlycomingoutfromaverysmallportcanbealmostinvisibleandbestrongenoughtopenetratethe
skin.Checkforleaksusingapieceofcardboard,NEVERUSEHANDS.
•
Ifanyliquidpenetratesskintissue,callformedicalaidimmediately
•
Seriousskininfectionsmayresultifmedicalattentionisnotgiven.
•
Usethespecictoolswhencheckingpressurevaluesonthehydraulicsystem.
WHEELSANDTYRES
•
Checkthatthetyresarecorrectlyinatedatthepressurespeciedbythemanufacturer.
Periodicallycheckpossibledamagestotherimsandtyres.
•
Standawayfrom(atthesideof)thetirewhencheckinginationpressure.
•
Onlycheckpressurewhenthevehicleisunloadedandthetiresarecold,toavoidincorrectreadingsasaresultof
over--pressure.
•
Donotre--usepartsofrecoveredwheelsasincorrectweldingorbrazingmayheatthematerial,causingittoweaken
andeventuallydamageorbreakthewheel.
•
Nevercut,norweldarimwiththeinatedtyreassembled.
•
Whenremovingthewheels,lockboththefrontandrearvehiclewheels.
•
Alwayspositionsupportstandswhenraisingthevehicle,inordertoconformtocurrentsafetyregulations.
•
Deatethetyrebeforeremovinganyobjectcaughtintothetyretread.
•
Neverinatetiresusinginammablegases;thiscouldcauseanexplosionandputoperatorsafetyatrisk.
REMOVALANDRE-FITTING
•
Liftandhandleallheavypartsusingsuitableliftingequipmentandmakesurethatallslingsandhooksarecorrectly
secured.
•
Handleallpartscarefullyduringliftingoperations,keepaneyeonthepersonnelworkingneartheloadtobelifted.
Neverinserthandsorngersbetweenparts,alwayswearapprovedaccidentpreventionclothing(goggles,gloves
andworkboots).
•
Avoidtwistingchainsormetalcablesandalwayswearsafetygloveswhenhandlingcablesorchains.
