Duringtroubleshooting,alwaysinspecttheconditionofthepinsandcavitiesonthematingmaleandfemale
connectors:
•
Checkformoistureintheconnectors.
•
Checkforcorrosiononthepinsandinthecavities.
•
Checkforbent,brokenorrecessedpins.
Moisturesaturatedconnector
Poorsystemperformancecanbecausedbymoistureina
connector;however,moisturewithinaconnectorcannot
beseen.Ifmoistureissuspected,usecontactcleaneror
aheatgunatalowsettingtodrytheconnector.Inspect
and,ifrequired,replacetheconnectorcovertoremove
thesourceofthemoisture.
NOTE:Donotusecompressedshopairtodrythecon-
nectors.Shopairisoftenmoisture-saturatedduetocon-
densation.
