Toaccuratelymeasuresmallresistances,theinternalresistanceofthemultimetermustbesubtractedfromthe
measuredresistance.T ondtheinternalresistanceofyourmultimeter:

TurnthemultimeterON.
•
Choosethelowestohmscaleonyourmultimeter.
•
Touchthetestleadstogethertodisplaytheinternalresistanceofthemeter.
•
Substractthisvaluefromanymeasuredresistancewhentesting,orusetheZEROfunctiononthemultimeterto
automaticallysubstracttheinternalresistanceofthemeter.
TurnsystempowerOFF .
1.Disconnectbothendsofthecircuitorcomponenttobetested.
2.Touchoneleadtooneendofthecircuitorcomponent.
NOTE:Somecomponents–e.g.,relays,solenoids–areequippedwithdiodeswhichrequirethatthepositive(+)
testleadandthenegative(-)testleadareusedatspecicconnectingpoints.Alwaysfollowtheinstructionsfrom
thetroubleshootingprocedurewhentestingthesecomponents.
3.Touchtheotherleadtotheotherendofthecircuitorcomponent.
4.Readthedisplayedmeasurement.
