INTRODUCTION
InstallationofadjustableO-RingBosses(ORB)connectors
Adjustableportconnectorsarecommonlyfoundon
shapedconnectors,whichallowfororientationofthe
connection.Adjustableportconnectorsutilizealocknut
andback-upwasher.
NOTICE:TeoncoatedO-ringsdonotrequirelubrication.
Forconnectionswhicharemadeintoaluminummanifolds
orwithstainlesssteelconnectors,itmayberequiredto
applyalubricanttopreventgalling.
1.Removeprotectiveconnectorcapsonlyimmediately
priortoassembly.
2.Inspectthecomponentstoensurethatthemaleand
femaleportthreadsandsealingsurfacesarefreeof
burrs,nicks,andscratches,oranyforeignmaterial.
Donotuseifimpuritiesarefound.
3.Makesurethewasher(2)isonthettingbeforethe
O-ring(1).
4.Backoffthelocknutasfaraspossible.Makesurethat
theback-upwasherisnotlooseanditisasfarupon
theconnectoraspossible.
5.Screwtheconnectorintotheportuntiltheback-up
washer(2)ortheretainingringcontactsthefaceof
theport(3).Lightwrenchingmaybenecessary.
6.Unscrewtheconnectoruntilyouachievethecorrect
angleoftheconnector.Donotunscrewtheconnector
morethanonefullturn.
NOTICE:Donotovertightentheconnectoryoumay
damagethewasherandincreasethepossibilityofa
leaktooccur.
7.Usingtwowrenches,holdthepositionoftheconnector
andtightenthelocknuttothepropertorquevalue.See
thetorquetablesforthepropertorquevalue.
NOTICE:MakesurethattheO-ringisnotpinchedand
thatthewasherisseatedatonthefaceoftheport.
Donotovertightenanddistorttheback-upwasher.
