SECTION 1 -- SAFETY FEATURES AND VEHICLE OPTIONAL SAFETY
1-- 13
ELECTRICAL POWER LINES
WARNING
When working near power lines, ensure that a safe
distance is maintained between the working area of
the Telehandler and the power line.
This distance at minimum should be at least
5metres.
ENGINE SHUTDOWN
Before stopping the machine after intensive work, let
the engine idle a few moments to enable the cooling
liquid and the oil to lower the engine and transmission
temperature.
Do not forget this precaution (in the event of frequent
stops of the engine), or else the temperature of cer-
tain parts will rise significantly due to stopping of the
cooling system, with the risk of badly damaging such
parts.
WARNING
Do not leave the key in the key start switch when the
machine is unattended.
MAINTENANCE CONSIDERATIONS
Maintenance and keeping machine in proper condi-
tion are compulsory.
Clean the machine or, at least, the area concerned
before any maintenance intervention, closing the cab
door and windows.
If necessary, protect against penetration of water,
steam or cleaning agents, components susceptible
of being damaged, particularly electrical compo-
nents and connections and the injection pump.
Wear clothes suitable for the maintenance of the
machine. Avoid wearing jewellery and loose clothes.
T ie and protect your hair, if necessary.
Ensure the workplace is sufficiently ventilated before
starting the machine.
Stop the engine when not in use.
Do not run the engine without air filter , or with oil,
water or fuel leaks.
W ait until the engine is cold before taking off the radi-
ator cap.
Use the recommended lubricants (Never use con-
taminated lubricants).
Change filter cartridges.
Make sure that t he evacuation of process materials
and of spare parts is carried out in total safety and in
an ecological way.
Clean the machine of any fuel, oil or grease trace.
Carry out repairs immediately, even if the repairs
concerned are minor .
Repair all leaks immediately, even if the leak con-
cerned is minor.
WARNING
Do not attempt to loosen unions, hoses or any
hydraulic component with the circuit under pressure.
The handling and the dismounting of the balancing
valves, which supply oil to the cylinders of your
machine, can be dangerous. A balancing valve must
only be dismounted when the cylinder concerned is
at rest and the hydraulic circuit is not under residual
pressure. Authorised technical staff only can carry
out this operation.
Do not smoke or approach the machine with a flame,
when the fuel tank is open or is being filled.
Do not fill the fuel tank when the engine is running.
Fill up the tank only in the spaces provided.
