again. When the write is complete, the message TPU rebooted and initialized” will appear.
Press “OK” to return to the main menu screen.
NOTE: Pressing “Cancel” at any time will end the initialization process without writing to the
conguration module.
C. Change the conguration module:
(1) From t he main menu screen select “Cong Mod” from the top menu. Select “Modify Strap
Data” and choose “Yes” to continue modication of the module. Congure each option per
the TCAS II Conguration Procedure. Press “OK” after conguring all options. Press OK”
again. When the write is complete, the message TPU rebooted and initialized” will appear.
Press “OK” to return to the main menu screen.
D. To view conguration module data do the following:
(1) From the main menu screen select “Cong Mod” from the top menu. Select “View Strap Data”.
Make sure that each option is per the TCAS II conguration procedure. Refer to Step 13C(1) if
changes to the congur
ation are necessary.
E. Do the control and display checkout procedures as follows:
(1) Turn the avionics power switch ON.
NOTE: The CAS 67A system needs one minute to warm-up. External sensors may need
more time.
(2) Press the ATC CODE Line Select Key on the RMU to access the transponder beacon code.
NOTE: When the ATC code line select key is pressed, a cursor box is placed around the
transponder code. Turn the tune knobs on the RMU to change code.
NOTE: Squat switch simulator must be installed and the WOW switch set to open “AIR”
before continuing.
NOTE: Trafc may be displayed on the MFD/PFD as a result of nearby aircraft.
(a) Set the transponder code to 0600 by turning the tune knobs.
(b) Press the TRANSPONDER Mode Line Select Key.
(c) Select ATC ALT by turning the tune knob
s.
(3) Press the TCAS button on the MC-800 MFD Controller to enable TCAS to be displayed on
the MFD/PFD. Press the TRANSPONDER Line Select Key, select "TA ONLY". M ake sure
that “TA ONLY” is displayed on the MFD/PFD. The TCAS range ring should be displayed on
the MFD/PFD.
(4) Press the TRANSPONDER Line Select Key, select "STANDBY". Make sure that “TCAS STBY”
is displayed on the MFD/PFD.
(5) Press the TRANSPONDER Line Select Key, select “TA/RA”. Make sure that “TA/RA” is
displayed on the MFD/PFD.
(6) Press the ALTITUDE BAND SELECT KEY to select the line key to toggle through above, below
and normal modes. Observe the MFD/PFD while cycling through the modes mentioned above
and make sure that “ABOVE and BELOW” are indicated independently and coincide with
the above and below indications on the RMU. There will be no indication on the MFD/PFD in
normal mode.
(7) Using the RANGE knob on the RMU, select each o
f the available ranges and observe that the
respective range ring appears on the MFD/PFD.
(8) Select a displayed range of ve nautical miles on the RMU. Press the TRANSPONDER Mode
Line Select Key to hightlight the ATC window. Press and hold the TST function key for two
seconds. The MFD/PFD will display “TCAS TEST”, the RMU will display "SYS TEST.". A test
