NOTE: Normal TCAS operation is inhibited during the self test.
(a) The following symbols should appear:

Resolution Advisory (RA) - solid red square, 3 o’clock, 200 feet above.

Traffic Advisory (TA) - solid yellow circle, 9 o’clock, 200 ft below and climbing
(direction of arrow indicates vertical action).

Proximity Traffic - solid cyan diamond, 1 o’clock, 1000 ft below and descending
(direction of arrow indicates vertical action).

4) Other Traffic - hollow white diamond, 11 o’clock, 1000 ft above.

5) “TRAFFIC” will be displayed in red at the bottom right corner of the artificial
horizon.
(9) At the conclusion of the self test, an aural “TCAS system test ok” will be made. If a failure
was detected, the aural message “TCAS system test fail” will be made. In addition, “TCAS
Fail ”, will display on the MFD/PFD.
(10) With the RMU in TA/RA, XPDR 1/2 to 1, TA ONLY is displayed on the MFD/PFD. Pull the
XPDR 1 (28VDC) circuit breaker. Make sure that the TA ONLY annunciation is removed and
"TCAS Fail", appears on the MFD/PFD and ATC ERR appears on the RMU. Reset the circuit
breaker and make sure that TCAS fail annunciations clear and TA ONLY appears.
(11) Disengage the ADC 1 circuit breaker and make sure TCAS flag annunciates on the MFD/PFD.
Reset the circuit breaker.
(12) Disengage the VG 1 circuit breaker and make sure the TCAS flag annunciates on the
MFD/PFD. Reset the circuit breaker.
(13) Disengage the RAD ALT circuit breaker and make sure the TCAS flag annunciates on the
MFD/PFD. Reset the circuit breaker.
(14) Disengage the TCAS Reference circuit breaker (26 VAC) and make sure the TCAS flag
annunciates on the MFD/PFD. Reset the circuit breaker.
(15) Disengage the TCAS circuit breaker (28 VDC) and make sure the TCAS flag annunciates
on the MFD/PFD. Reset the circuit breaker.
(16) Repeat Steps 12E(1) through 12E(15) for transponder 2.
F. Do the TCAS test setup as follows:
CAUTION: Advise air traffic control before beginning procedure to acknowledge possible
interaction with other TCAS equipped aircraft.
(1) Attach pitot static tester and set the altitude to 20,000 ft. Set the airspeed to 150 knots.
(2) Install radio altimeter simulator and apply a radio altitude of at least 2,000 ft.
(3) Install squat switch simulator and place the WOW switch in open “AIR” mode. The landing
gear should remain down and locked.
(4) Apply avionics power and turn the TCAS system on (Attitude/Heading system must be
operating).
(5) Turn the TCAS-201 Test Set on and perform a self test by pressing the “Self Test” then “Run”.
Make sure that all modules passed the self test (a pass or fail indication for each module will
be displayed).
