How to fix a Champion 201319 that will not start?

  If your Champion Portable Generator's engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure you have enough fuel. If fuel isn't the issue, inspect the spark plug; clean and adjust it, or replace it if necessary. Check the oil level and fill the crankcase to the correct level if it's low. Make sure the generator is on a flat surface. Also, verify the spark plug wire is securely attached and the fuel valve is open. Confirm that the EZ Start dial is in the ON position. If the fuel is old or contaminated with water, drain it and replace it with fresh fuel. If the engine is flooded, allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Finally, ensure the CO Shield® module is properly installed; if it has been removed or tampered with, reinstall it or contact technical support.

  If your Champion Portable Generator engine shuts down during operation, it could be due to several reasons. Check if the fuel tank is empty and fill it if necessary. Also, verify the oil level and fill the crankcase to the proper level, ensuring the generator is on a flat surface. If your generator is equipped with CO Shield® and the red LED light is blinking, move the generator to an open, outdoor area, pointing the exhaust away from people and buildings. Ensure there are no obstructions within 5 feet of the generator. If the yellow LED light is blinking, confirm that it blinks when the generator shuts off; if the issue persists, contact technical support. Lastly, check for a clogged spark arrestor and clean it if needed.
