heavy brake applications should not be
carried out with new brake p

ds/disc

linings
/drums until the
compone
nt
s have
bedded
-in. New brak
e friction com
ponent

will not reach full efficiency until the bed-
ding-in process is complete.

at several spee
ds
within the

r-
mal operating range using both light and heavy
pedal

essure. Note any
t
enden
cy to snatch, pull
or drag, and any undue delay in application or
release.
Af
ter stopping the
vehicle (not imme
diate
l
y a

ter a
period of heavy braking), carefully check the
brake temperature. A brake disc that feels hot or
is appreciably hotter than the others, indicates
that the
brake is bin
d
ing.
After Completion of the Test, Inspect
For
Oil, coolant, hydraulic, air and fuel leaks.
Abnormal temperature of any moving
compo

s or assemblies,

wheel hubs, transmission and
axle

might indicate over tightness or lack of

brication
.
