      If your Char-Broil Smoker isn't heating, first, press the power button. Ensure the smoker is correctly plugged into the outlet. Check your household circuit breakers or GFI and reset or replace them if needed. Test the outlet with another working appliance. Try a different outlet, ideally on a separate circuit. If none of these steps work, consider replacing the controller or heating element.

      If your food thermometer reads inaccurately on your Char-Broil Smoker, make sure the tip of the thermometer is placed in the food you're cooking. Clean the thermometer with a damp cloth with hot, soapy water only, and do not immerse it in water; allow up to one day for moisture to evaporate. If the issue continues, replace the food thermometer.

      If you're experiencing insufficient smoke from the smoker box of your Char-Broil Smoker, allow the smoker box to reach maximum temperature by heating it for 15-20 minutes on a controller setting of 15 before lowering the temperature for cooking. If there is moisture or water in controller or electrical connections there is no suggested solution.
